Sicamous

Houseboat Capital of Canada

Sicamous is a charming lakeside town nestled between Shuswap Lake and Mara Lake and is known as Sek'maws by the Secwépemc people who have lived here since time immemorial. Historically, Sicamous began as a vital railway and paddle wheeler stop in the late 1800s, connecting the interior to the coast. Today, it’s a popular summer destination famous for its stunning waterways, sandy beaches, and endless boating opportunities.

This project was developed by the Sicamous & District Museum & Historical Society

We respectfully acknowledge that Sicamous lies within the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Secwépemc First Nations.
